Following our £450,000 refurbishment programme we’re proud to offer you a truly comfortable stay right in the heart of the traditional market town of Settle.

We’ve stayed as true to the original features and charm of the original Coaching Inn as we possibly could and evidence of its history can be seen everywhere – from the original Inglenook Fireplace, wooden floors throughout, grand staircase with pictures tracing back through Settle’s history, along with lovingly restored parquet floors and furniture in the bedrooms, which has been in residence for as long as we can remember.

And when you combine the beautiful period features with the picture perfect setting in the foothills of the Pennines, you know you’re in a really special place.

What’s more, if food is one of your big passions, you won’t be disappointed. The philosophy here is around using fresh, local in season produce sourced from trusted suppliers in the area. Dishes are simple in their creation, yet they’re perfectly executed by Chef, John Wild and team. And to wash down a delicious meal, choose from our Thwaites cask ales, guest ales and Signature Range.

We look forward to giving you the warmest of welcomes at The Lion at Settle.

Accessibility

If you’re visiting The Lion and not quite as sprightly as you used to be, we hope you’ll find the information below a help in planning your visit.

-          We do not have an parking on site, however there is a pay and display 5 minutes’ walk from us. However if you need to drop people off you are more than welcome to do so in the tunnel located at the right hand side of the building.

-          All the doors in to the main building are double doors to allow ease of access in a wheelchair.

-          The bar and dining room are on one level and have no step access

-          Lighting throughout is ‘atmospheric’ – but many tables are close to the window with increased natural daylight

-          We have a supply of reading glasses behind the bar, and can provide large print menus

-          We’re happy to serve ‘small’ portions of any of our dishes so as not to over face those with smaller appetites

And last but not least, we’ll try to ascertain any special requests when you make a reservation with us so that we’re prepared for your arrival.
